These rows have been picked by hand every fall for two generations. Walk them in August for peaches, October for pumpkins, and any weekend in between for the best afternoon in Platte County.

Apple Picking in Weston, Missouri
Honeycrisp, Fuji, Pink Lady and Jonathan, plus a dozen more varieties that come ready at different points through the fall. We hand you a bag at the gate, what you pick gets weighed on the way out.
Apple season is the long one here. It opens in August and runs to the end of pumpkin season, which means most weekends between Labor Day and Halloween you can pick apples, ride out to the patch, and eat a cider donut in the same afternoon.

The Pumpkin Patch & Pumpkin Fest
Carving pumpkins, pie pumpkins, warty ones, white ones, and a few nobody can lift alone. You ride the hayrack out to the field, pick from the vine, and ride back.
Families come out from Kansas City, Leavenworth, Platte City, Parkville and St. Joseph, most of them make a whole day of it. Pumpkin Fest lands the last weekend of September with live music and the candy cannon going off at one o’clock.

Admission covers every play zone, the hayrack ride, parking, and a bag for picking. You pay for what you pick and what you eat — nothing else.
Play Zones
Bounce pillow, ziplines, low-ropes course, rat racers, treehouse village, grain bin basketball, the giant slide, and the barnyard sports village. New this fall: pedal karts and tire mountain.
Two-Acre Corn Maze
Cut fresh every fall and big enough to get properly turned around in. Pair it with the zinnia maze next door while the flowers are still going.
Apple Cider Donuts & Bakery
Apple cider donuts made fresh through the day, cider slushies, kettle corn, caramel apples, whole pies and slices, plus jams, jellies, salsas and canned produce to take home.
Cider Barn, Winery & Wine Tasting
Eleven wines and ten hard ciders, all made from fruit grown here. Flights, glasses and bottles, Weston is wine country, and this is the orchard end of it.
U-Pick Fruit & Berry Picking
Strawberries in May, tart cherries in June, then peaches and blackberries through the summer — the largest selection of u-pick fruit in Northwest Missouri. Zinnias open for cutting in September.
School Trips, Groups & Parties
Guided orchard tours for schools and homeschool groups, birthday parties, and the Cider Barn for private events year-round.

Same Family, Same County Road
Fifty acres, seventeen thousand apple trees, and a family that has worked this ground for two generations. Seventeen thousand apple trees, 50 acres, and no corporate office, when you walk in the door, you’ll probably meet the farmer.
Weston is a historic river town with a main street worth an afternoon of its own. We sit just outside it, up County Road H, where the hills start.

This is a wonderful place to get all the fall wants and needs in. We took a friend who has oddly done none of the fall wants. They have a maze, pony ride for kids, apple picking, pumpkin picking, an amazing store with fall and other goodies, they have a small farm animal zoo and a hay ride! It was amazing to get all the fall fun done in a single visit, and our friends loved every minute.

What does admission include?

How far is Weston Orchard from Kansas City?
About 35 minutes from downtown Kansas City, 30 minutes from Leavenworth and Atchison, 15 minutes from Platte City, and around 40 minutes from St. Joseph.
Do I need to buy tickets in advance?
You can buy at the gate, but fall weekends get busy — buying online ahead of time means you drive straight in.
Are you open on Mondays?
Yes. We’re open every day, 9am to 5pm, May through November.
What if it rains?
The farm stays open in light rain and the Cider Barn and market are covered. Tickets are weather-reliant and final sale, so check our Facebook or TikTok before you set out if the forecast looks rough.
How long does a visit take?
Most families spend two to four hours. If you’re picking, playing, eating and doing a tasting, plan on the longer end.
Can we bring a wagon or stroller?
Yes. The orchard paths are natural and uneven, so closed-toed shoes are a good idea for everyone.
